2020 SUMMER BALLET PROGRAM

 Scottsdale School of Ballet

2020 Summer Ballet Program SSB Summer Dancers

Due to the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 virus, we will not have our guests as anticipated. We may over the 3 weeks have a guest teacher, but they will not teach the entire schedule. We are happy to announce that the Summer intensive will go on with classes taught by SSB director, Donald Dadey. You can access his bio on the FACULTY page. We are also looking forward to having the Contemporary/Jazz classes and choreography for the summer students. Class size will be limited so make sure you register this week to reserve your place for the 2020 Summer Intensive! Also please read the precautions we are taking due to the current pandemic.

You can register by filling out and submitting the online registration form on this page below.  You may also download the printable Registration Form on this page, complete it and submit it to SSB with your deposit. A $45.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon registration to reserve your place in classes of which $15.00 will be applied to the Registration Fee and the remaining $30.00 to your tuition balance.

If we do have a guest we are grateful to the Scottsdale Ballet Foundation for their support of the Summer Guest teachers. You can donate or get more information about the foundation by going to their website. SBF FOUNDATION

PRECAUTIONS DUE TO COVID-19

SSB will make sure we have hand sanitizer in the lobby area and the studio for all students. All surfaces including barres, bathroom areas, lobby area, and studio floor will be cleaned and disinfected at the end of each day.

1) Students will be dropped off in front of the SSB studios and enter from the Suite D, need to have an infrared temperature check (non-contact thermometer) upon entering and if they have an elevated temperature, for the safety to the other students will not be permitted in classes. As all dressings room areas are closed students need to be pre-dressed for class, will need to apply hand sanitizer and go directly to studio A to their assigned place at the barre.

2)  Students need to have a large bottle of water for the day as the water fountain will not be available. Students may take their dance bag with them to the studio with each student having a designated area in the studio to place their bags. The class will be limited to 8 students and the studio will be cordoned off into 10×10 foot squares so students will have a minimum of 10 feet from each other at both barre and center. As always students need to cough or sneeze into a tissue or elbow.

3) All students will wear the same dance attire for all classes and need to have convertible tights for the Contemporary and Jazz as well for the Advanced level. Socks need to be worn for these the Contempo and Jazz classes as well as no bare feet will be allowed.

We understand that in closer proximity, masks are recommended so if your child wishes to wear a mask during classes they may but it is not required.
