SSB Spring “Soiree de Ballet 2017” a great success!
The Soiree de Ballet 2017 which took place at the Herberger Theater Center May 20th and 21st, was a resounding success for the SSB students. The performance to Sold-Out crowds was hailed by all as “the best Scottsdale School of Ballet has presented to date”. Amanda Vaughan, a board member of the Scottsdale Ballet Foundation said, “This performance was better than I have seen from professional companies.” Saturday and sunday’s audiences were impressed with the range of the students from the Flamenco dances by Julia Chacon, the Contemporary dances works by Cody Pickens and the precision displayed in “The Ballet Class” from the youngest Level A to the Advanced level.
The highlights of the evening were the “The Carnival” where all levels displayed various characters in a carnival atmosphere and “The Sleeping Beauty” where the Pre-Professional students showed off their classical ballet technique in precise corps de ballet and with each of the Fairy’s solo’s showing confidence and aplomb. Dancers were given a well deserved standing ovation in the curtain calls.
The directors Sibylle Acatos-Dadey and Donald Dadey we delighted to welcome guests and supporters, Eric Pittman, Amanda Vaughan, Amanda Hidalgo and Ruth Doering to the performance. Thanks to all who attended the performances and for the continued support of SSB.
